Surrey hashed in Friston
on Saturday Jan.26th.
Surrey H3 had a dinner-dance in Eastbourne so they thought a little run in the woods beforehand would be nice.
The hares had other ideas, more on the lines of "let's wear the buggers out so they are too tired to dance so we can have an early night".
Cliffbanger nearly ruined the whole show by finding the on-in about a mile into the run.
Luckily the pack chose to ignore his calls and ran on.
The check-backs were formidable usually ending at the top of some long hill. This worked well in keeping the pack together and exhausting the front runners.
Two drink stops were a small compensation as were a couple of view points.
Popeye did his usually thing of alternately front running and getting lost.
The car park closed its gates at 4pm, so in the gathering gloom there was a dash for the end. The pack struggled in over the next 20 mins.
It was a great run and well set by the hares and H4 are grateful for the invitation and appreciated the friendly atmosphere throughout.
